Request for CDD Supervisor Candidates
A Seat will become vacant on the Solterra Resort CDD Board of Supervisors on November 19, 2024.
Any residents interested in being considered for appointment by the Board to fill the vacant Seat, are invited to submit their resume highlighting their community and public service, as well as any applicable work experience, to the District Manager ([email protected], [email protected]) for the Board's consideration before November 25, 2024. Please be sure to include your name, address, and email address.
To be considered for appointment by the CDD Board please plan to attend the December CDD meeting scheduled for 8 a.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024 at the Solterra Resort Clubhouse, 5200 Solterra Blvd, Davenport, FL.
A qualified candidate is any person who meets all the following requirements:
- At least 18 years of age; and
- Is a citizen of the United States; and
- Is a legal resident of the State of Florida; and
- Is a legal resident of the District, and
- Is registered to vote with the Polk County Supervisor of Elections.
Please note any candidate applying will be asked to provide documents to show that they meet the above requirements.
What is expected of a CDD Supervisor?
The CDD Board meets monthly and Supervisors are expected to attend to vote on matters concerning the operation and maintenance of the District's infrastructure (including, but not limited to, the District's stormwater system, common area landscaping, roads, and amenity facilities), in accordance with the District's budget, and the District's insurance and Bond obligations. The organizing of community social activities and events, and matters concerning private property or property outside the District's boundaries do not fall within the District's purview. District staff implement the Board's directions and policies in accordance with Florida Statutes, and the District's Rules of Procedure and ensure vendors operate in accordance with the District's policies and agreements.
All Supervisors are required to abide by Florida Sunshine and Public Records laws, they must submit an annual financial disclosure (Form 1) with the Florida Commission on Ethics and complete four hours of ethics training per calendar year. District Counsel will explain these requirements in more detail to the appointed Supervisor.
